Product and summaries
Sumzy reads your existing product reviews and generates a concise AI summary that sits above them on the product page. It adds an overview above your existing reviews; it does not replace them. Shoppers get the key insight near the buy decision. You keep all your reviews exactly as they are.
Yes. Sumzy reads the reviews you have already collected on your store. There is nothing to migrate or re-import. You do not need to change how you collect reviews.
reads your native WooCommerce product reviews.
reads them through a supported review app.
Five reviews. Below that the widget simply does not appear yet, which is a status, not an error. Once a product crosses the threshold, a summary generates automatically in the background.
Sumzy works from a representative sample, so summaries stay accurate and fast even on products with thousands of reviews. The sampling is designed to reflect the full range of feedback, not just the most recent or most positive reviews.
Yes, always. Recurring complaints surface alongside the praise, in proportion to how often they appear. A minority complaint stays a minority; a common issue is never buried. There is no positive-only mode and there never will be.
Yes. Summaries refresh automatically in the background according to your publishing settings. When new reviews arrive and a product crosses your update threshold, Sumzy regenerates the summary without you needing to do anything.
Yes, on Professionaland above. You can read every summary before it goes live, edit the text, approve it, regenerate it, or hide it from the admin panel. The AI can occasionally misread a product's feedback, so you stay in control. The Essentials plan shows summaries automatically without an approval step.
Platforms and compatibility
Yes. The same summary engine powers both. Plan names, prices, and the trial are the same on both platforms. Install, billing, and placement follow each platform's own conventions.

Sumzy supports 43 languages for the summary text and the widget labels, including European, RTL, CJK, and Indic scripts. The summary is always generated in the language of the product's reviews. Per-shopper multilingual, where each visitor sees the summary in their own language, is a Business feature.
No. Sumzy runs the AI itself. There is no OpenAI or Anthropic account to create, no API key to manage, and no separate usage bill to track. You pay for Sumzy and it handles everything.
Performance, privacy and trust
No. The widget reads the saved local summary with no page-load AI call, so product pages stay fast even when generation is temporarily unavailable. Shoppers always see the last saved summary. Your store never depends on Sumzy's servers being reachable at the moment someone loads a product page.
Review text and ratings only. Reviewer names, email addresses, IP addresses, and order, billing, or shipping data are never sent to Sumzy. Summaries are generated from what reviewers wrote, not from who they are.
No raw review text is kept after the summary is written. Sumzy processes the text to generate the summary and does not build a database of your customers' reviews. See our privacy policy for the full data flow and AI sub-processor details.
Yes. Every summary carries a clear, non-removable AI disclosure. The original reviews remain displayed below the summary. Shoppers can see exactly what the summary is based on and can read the full reviews themselves.
Plans and billing
The full features of whichever plan you choose, up to 1,000 summaries, for 14 days. A card is required at sign-up. You can cancel any time before the trial ends at no cost.
You are charged when the 14-day trial ends, unless you cancel before then. Displayed prices exclude VAT; your Merchant of Record adds applicable tax at checkout.
billing is handled by Freemius.
billing is handled by Shopify.
Both are available. Annual billing costs roughly two months less than paying monthly. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings, and the change takes effect on your next billing cycle.
Summaries stay live for the period you paid for. After a full lapse, generation stops and the widget stops displaying. Nothing is deleted. If you resubscribe, your summaries come back and generation resumes.
One WooCommerce site or one Shopify store per subscription. Each additional store needs its own plan. There is no multi-site bundle at this time.
Comparing Sumzy
Sumzy does not collect reviews. It summarizes the ones you already have, on any review platform you are already using. The big review collectors treat AI summary as a paid add-on to their core product. Sumzy is built around the summary from the start, and it does not make you manage an AI provider.
Most review apps treat AI summary as a locked add-on: one language, no editing, regenerated on a fixed cycle. Sumzy is built around the summary from the start: 43 languages out of the box, a merchant review and approval workflow so you can adjust wording before it goes live, structured aspect chips that name recurring themes rather than a single prose blob, and automatic refresh whenever new reviews arrive. Summaries save to your own store so the widget is fast even when the backend is down. See our comparison guides for WooCommerce and Shopify for a side-by-side view.
